Evaluation - Activity 2

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our opening scene of Crimson’s eye shares some similarities with other horror genre films. I have chosen to write about our protagonist, Crimson, in relation to the two other films that represent in particular social groups.
I am going to compare our opening sequence to the movie ‘The Unborn’. They share a lot of similarities, once including characters appearance and how they portray their role.
The main similarities is that both films are based on the character's having a problem with one of their eyes.

Another aspect of the social groups is costume design; we dressed the character in very informal and casual clothing, in leggings and a long beige jumper, we done this so the main focus wasn't attracted too much on her costume, instead on the opening sequence itself. I can see that the protagonist in 'The Unborn' is also dressed very casual - jeans, and white plain top with converses. I think that the main idea behind this was not to steal the focus off of the main story line.
